Annie Oakley
Melanie Hall is an illustrator living just north of New York City in the Hudson Valley. She says, “I love to use my imagination to give my images a little twist of whimsy. “

Melanie has illustrated magazines and over 27 children’s books and has received numerous awards including the Parents’ Choice Award for an outstanding picture book and a Sydney Taylor Notable Book. Her illustration has been exhibited at the Original Art Show at the Society of Illustrators in New York, and her books have been favorably reviewed by the New York Times Book Review. Her work is in the collection of the Mazza Museum at the University of Findlay.

BIO
Educated at Rhode Island School of Design, Pratt Institute, B.A.; Marywood University, M.A. Illustrator since 1978 with numerous clients in New York City, Boston, and across the nation.

Melanie is currently teaching children’s book illustration to undergraduate students at Marywood University. She also teaches graduate students in Marywood’s MFA program”Get Your Masters With the Masters” in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She also teaches creative workshops at the Highlights Foundation in Honesdale, Pennsylvania.

Melanie is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
